Phivolcs, die Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology hat bei dem Vulkan Pinatubo, der 1991 heftig ausgebrochen war, wieder Anzeichen von Unruhe festgestellt und den Alarmlevel auf Stufe 1 festgelegt. Damit steht jetzt kein Ausbruch unmittelbar bevor, könnte je nach Entwicklung aber kommen. Eine weitere Überwachung ist angezeigt.

While there has been an increase in seismic activity at Pinatubo, Phivolcs noted that the volcano only emitted 378 tonnes of carbon dioxide per day, which is still within the background range of 1,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per day.
