Im Adler-Naturschutzgebiet in Calanasan, Apayao, entdeckten Forscher eine neue Hornblattart. Die Pflanze namens Medinilla calanasan wurde am 18. Februar in der internationalen Zeitschrift Phytotaxa beschrieben, so die Philippine Eagle Foundation.
